School Advisory Council
The School Advisory Council (SAC) was created in August 2008 under the guidelines set forth by the Diocese of Pittsburgh. School Advisory Councils do not have the power to enact policy, but exist to offer advice, guidance and support to the Pastor and Principal, in specific areas as re-quested by the Pastor and Principal. Such advice and assistance are especially encouraged in the areas of public relations, student retention and recruitment, fundraising and development, and the strengthening of parental and community support for the school. The Principal is responsible for the operation of the school and its programs and he or she is accountable solely to the Pastor.
SAC meets once a month. Parents of school children wishing to address the Council shall submit a to the President of the Council, outlining the subject to be discussed. Contact Laura Hauser. This request is to be submitted one week prior to the date of the meeting. A portion of each meeting will be set aside and made open to any interested party wishing to bring relevant issues to the attention of The Council.
All registered parishioners and all non-parishioners who are parents or legal guardians of a child attending the School, and who are at least 18 years old, are eligible to be members of the SAC. Nominations for new members are accepted in the Spring. Terms are from August through July. If you think you might be interested in serving on SAC, contact one of the members above for more information.
