Professor Coury and St. Ursula’s 4th grade class participated in the LinkUp Program at Carnegie Music Hall in Oakland on Friday, March 27th. The program was sponsored by the Music Department at Duquesne University and Carnegie Hall in New York City. Each participating student received a recorder and all the music necessary to perform along during the program. The 4th grade students have been practicing the music for months, under the direction of Professor Coury.

The program began with a musical rendition of Peter and the Wolf. An orchestra performed the music while a narrator told the story. The students were then invited to participate with the orchestra in several songs, such as America and A Simple Melody, by either singing or playing their recorders.

It was a great experience for all the students and chaperones who attended. The students experienced a lovely performance by the orchestra and were able to play along with thousands of other area students in beautiful Carnegie Music Hall!
