St. Ursula School Dress Code

St. Ursula School is a Catholic school that maintains the
right to establish a uniform dress code for its students. It is recognized that
proper school attire and good grooming are conducive to a student's educational
and social development.
This Dress Code was developed:
to promote a Christian atmosphere
to free children for academic concentration
to de-emphasize competition among children regarding clothing
to allow more economical dress for school, and
provide some choice to accommodate individual differences.
This Dress Code is required of all students in all grades,
kindergarten through eighth grade. This policy is intended to maintain a
standard of dress that is neat, economical, modest and attractive.
St. Ursula Parents and
Faculty have adopted the following uniform code for the 2006-2007 school year:
Boys Dress Code
Dress Slacks or Walking Shorts - navy
or khaki
Shirts & Sweaters- knit, plain oxford shirt, or turtleneck in red, white or navy
(Church days - white shirt)
Girls Dress Code
Jumpers, Skirts - plaid and purchased
from Schoolbelles
Skorts, Slacks & Walking Shorts -navy or khaki
Shirts & Sweaters - knit, broadcloth, oxford shirt or turtleneck in red, white
or navy (Church days - white shirt)
Boys / Girls Gym Uniform
T-shirt or sweat shirt - red or white
(with the St. Ursula logo or plain)
New for 2008-09 school year - Shorts, sweatpants, wind pants
- red or navy blue. (with the St. Ursula logo or plain)
Tennis shoes
Dress Code for All
1. Dress shoes or clean tennis shoes are
acceptable. Socks or stockings are to be worn at all times. For safety and health
concerns, all tie shoes should be kept tied.
2. Coats, jackets, and outerwear are unacceptable classroom attire.
3. Hair is to be neatly combed and attractive in appearance. Hats, scarves or
sweatbands are not permitted during class time. Students should not use hair
spray, spray colognes or aerosol cans while in school.
4. Several items were permitted during the transitional year but will no longer
be acceptable: i.e. Girls -navy, tan jumpers or skirts. Boys - cargo or
carpenter style pants or shorts with rivets or extra large pockets.

available. Orders are taken two times per school year.
