A History of Excellence
Located in the heart of Hampton Township in Allison Park, Pennsylvania, St.
Ursula School has been educating children in kindergarten through eighth grade
for almost 100 years. Founded in 1911, St. Ursula School prides itself on
providing an unparalleled Catholic education. This is evidenced by exemplary standardized test scores, award winning academic and athletic teams, and our
esteemed alumni who have gone on to achieve great things in both their
professional and spiritual endeavors.
Small Environment, Big Opportunities
St. Ursula School has always fostered the growth of the whole student. In
addition to a challenging academic and catechetical curriculum, students have opportunities at St. Ursula unlike those at any other school. In addition to all
the traditional sport and musical programs, students as young as second grade
can lector and cantor weekly Mass. Third grade students perform in multiple
stage productions, can begin playing school sports and can compete nationally in
the Math 24 competition. Fourth grade brings the opportunity for participation
in the school band and competition in the Battle of the Books. At the middle
school level, students are offered the opportunity to participate in robotics,
Student Council, forensics, and Science Olympiad with new opportunities added
yearly. With class sizes averaging 15–18 children, each child is challenged to
discover who they are and is given the chance to excel in multiple pursuits.
Our Faculty, Our Pride
The faculty of St Ursula School is one of the most tenured in the area. Over 80%
of St. Ursula School teachers have been at St. Ursula for five or more years.
90% have at least 10 years total teaching experience and more than half the
faculty has advanced teaching degrees. Most importantly, as evidenced by many
comments and observations from our alumni, the teachers and staff of St. Ursula
are committed to the success of each individual student. Chris Churilla, 2002
St. Ursula graduate said it best: “To me, they were not just teachers, they
were friends and role models. The teachers always were willing to give an extra
helping hand when in need to make sure the students were grasping the material.”
A Connected Community
St. Ursula School prides itself on creating an environment of open communication
between parents, students and faculty. Utilizing the RVS Gradebook software,
parents of students in first through eighth grade can view their child’s
academic progress online at any time and can communicate any questions or
concerns immediately to the teacher or principal. Parent–teacher conferences
are held twice yearly to promote communication and assessment of a students
progress. The faculty and staff of St. Ursula School work in conjunction with
our school parents, alumni, & our parish family to create a community dedicated
to raising children who will enter our school to grow and exit to serve our
greater community.
