Thanksgiving Service
Project
St. Ursula families participated in
the annual Thanksgiving Service Project and Kids Bingo. Each year, food is
collected at the school before Thanksgiving and it is packaged into meals for
area families. A holiday craft made by students was included with each basket.
Prizes and food made for a fun time for all as well as providing a community
service. Thanks to everyone who participated and to everyone who was involved in
planning and hosting the event!
Phipps Field Trip
The first and second grades traveled
to Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens for their first field trip of the
school year. Featured at Phipps was the Chihuly glass exhibit. The colorful
glass creations can be seen in many of these photos.
Happy Halloween
Each year the parents plan a great
Halloween celebration for the students. For the first time in many years the
weather forced our annual Halloween parade to be held inside the school. Thank
you to all of the parents for planning all of the games and providing all of the
treats. The kids had a great time, especially with the mystery boxes filled with
the gross concoctions!!!
St. Ursula Hoagies
Are The Best!
Mrs. Heyl, Mrs. Readal, and Mrs.
Angelucci oversee the students making the hoagies. The hoagie sale proceeds are
used to fund the upper grades field trip.
St. Ursula School

Below is a response from
the Middle States Commission on Elementary School on our recent update of
our "Description of an Accredited School".
General Commendations “Since its inaugural year in 1911, the educational
mission of St. Ursula School has been to carefully cultivate both the
academic and the apostolic. To this end, the dedicated administration and
faculty combine a comprehensive religious program with a multi-faceted
curriculum. Students are exposed to diversified learning experiences and
various instructional approaches. This nourishes and develops the myriad
attributes of each child’s personality: intellectual, spiritual,
emotional, aesthetic and physical. Areas of their program that resonate
this educational vision envelop: tapping into the vast resources afforded
by technology: experiential activities in science and the performing/fine
arts; developing critical thinking and problem solving skills; and
academic contest. In the religious realm children are encouraged to be
proactive participants in the expression of their faith through liturgical
celebrations, prayerful experiences, sacramental preparation/ reception
and seasonal devotions. Furthermore, varied co-curricular opportunities
foster a health mind, competitive spirit and cooperation. Strong familial
and pastoral support are key elements in the aforementioned achievements."
General recommendations from the Middle States Commission on Elementary
School - "Keep
striving for the academic prowess evidenced in this report!”
